Art. 1: Purpose
“SwimVox” is a research project for European swimming pools and includes an online survey among the visitors of the participating swimming pools. This online survey is linked to a contest for the participating respondents.
The contest is organised by Sento Group BV (see art. 7), which facilitates the research. These rules set out the conditions for participation in the survey and the contest. Participation in the survey and the contest implies acceptance of these rules.
“The respondent” or “the respondents” are the persons who complete a survey for one of the participating swimming pools.
- Participation in the survey is entirely voluntary and takes place at the respondent’s own initiative.
- Participation in the research and the contest is open to persons aged 18 and over.
- The respondent may stop the survey at any time.
- The surveys are completely anonymous. No identifying data is requested or stored.
The estimated time needed to complete a survey is 10 minutes, depending on speed and answers.
The respondent gives the researchers or their partners permission to store, process and report his or her answers anonymously.
The data is collected and stored by Sento Group BV and may be shared with the partners of the research, such as the participating universities. More information: www.swimvox.eu.
Art. 2: Personal data
The questionnaire contains no questions about personal data or identifying data: at no point is any data collected that can be traced back to the identity of a person.
Completing the questionnaire is therefore always entirely anonymous.
Because of this anonymity, it is not possible to determine who has completed a particular survey, and it is therefore not possible to request access to, correction of or deletion of answers afterwards.
It is prohibited to enter personal data (name, email address, postal address, etc.) in the open fields of the survey. If this nonetheless occurs, you may contact Sento Group at the email address below to view, correct or delete your data.
No personal data is collected for the contest (“win a trip”) either.
- The system selects the winners according to the procedure described in art. 4.
- After completing the survey, winners are shown a separate message with a unique code and instructions to contact the research team by email.
- In this way, the team contacts only the winners, and no data needs to be collected from all respondents.
Winners may at any time, by simple request by email or letter, ask Sento Group BV to view, correct or delete their personal data. Winners’ personal data is deleted once the prize has been handed over.
Art. 3: Contest conditions
The contest runs for the entire duration of the visitor survey.
- Participation is valid only for respondents who answer all the questions in the questionnaire.
- Each person may take part in the survey, and therefore in the contest, only once.
- Each respondent has a chance to win one of the trips, but can win only one trip.
Prizes:
- The trips are awarded in the form of vouchers worth €1,000.
- The total number of trips is 3 for the entire study (the research team reserves the right to make changes).
Additional benefit:
- Each valid respondent saves 1 m² of threatened rainforest or natural area.
- A maximum of 1 m² per respondent, up to 1,000 m² per questionnaire (per swimming pool).
At the end of the study, a donation is made to the organisation World Land Trust, which issues an official certificate. This certificate is shared with all participating swimming pools and published online.
Art. 4: Determination of the winners
The prizes are drawn by lottery.
- Before the study, www.randomizer.org selects 3 swimming pools (plus 3 reserve swimming pools) at random from all participating swimming pools.
- In the survey of these swimming pools, a prize is drawn among the respondents.
Process:
- For each selected swimming pool, www.randomizer.org chooses a number between 1 and 10.
- In the selected swimming pools, a randomiser in the survey system assigns each respondent a number between 1 and 10 in the background (invisibly).
- The first respondent who is assigned the winning number sees a message at the end of the survey saying that he or she has won, with a unique code and an email address.
- The winner makes contact via this address; all further arrangements are handled directly between the winner and the organiser.
If the winner does not contact the organiser within one week, the prize may be awarded to the next respondent with the winning number. This process is repeated until there is a winner for each prize.
If a selected swimming pool is at risk of reaching too few respondents, the research team may replace it with a reserve swimming pool. If necessary, new swimming pools may also be added.
If the research team decides:
- To award additional prizes: additional swimming pools and numbers are chosen.
- To reduce the number of prizes: the randomiser decides for which swimming pools no prize is drawn.
All draws are recorded on video. Changes after the start (more or fewer prizes) are recorded in the same way.
The result is final and binding and cannot be contested. No correspondence will be entered into with the organiser regarding the result.
Art. 5: Prizes
- Each winner receives a travel budget of €1,000 in the form of a voucher (usable for travel, accommodation and activities).
- A total of 3 vouchers are available.
- The number of prizes may be adjusted without prior notice.
The prizes cannot be exchanged for cash or other benefits. The organiser is not liable for the quality of the trips or for defects in services provided by third parties.
Art. 6: Contest rules
Participation implies full acceptance of these rules.
- Any attempt at fraud leads to immediate exclusion and may result in legal action.
- Sento Group BV reserves the right to modify, postpone, shorten or cancel the contest (in whole or in part) in the event of force majeure or circumstances beyond its control.
- No liability can be invoked in this respect.
Printing, spelling or layout errors cannot be invoked as grounds for any obligation on the part of Sento Group.
These rules have been drawn up in English (governing and binding version). For the convenience of users, they have been translated into Dutch, French, German, Spanish and Italian. These translations are not binding; no rights may be derived from them.
